FHWA Databases are provided on CD-rom in the following formats:

• A self-contained, DOS database Query form that includes its own user-friendly query program that allows one to search with multiple criteria. For example, one can search for all truck companies in a particular state that haul a particular type of cargo.
• Microsoft Access format that allows you to write your own Access queries. This is a powerful format provided you are able to create Access queries and reports.
• ASCII format that requires you to write your own programs to access the data.
